My nail polish problem

ahoy hoy!

Recently, after a long time in denial, I realised that I have an obsession with nail polish. I love eBay to buy them, the bloggers get me inspired with the new colours and Boots do such good offers on them that in the end I cannot resist to buy one. Or two. Or maybe five.

So now I have had an epiphany, I know that I cannot keep buying them because I need to buy other things. Like um, food?

I decided that I either need to stop buying anything beauty related at all, or find a income to help me out. I was browsing Etsy with all the magical amazing things that it holds, and I came across hand painted false nails. Is there a more perfect way to make myself a little pocket money? So I set about getting all the things I need, and hey presto, KittyKatNails Etsy shop was born!

Here are some pictures of the three designs I have listed so far, more shall follow

You can find my Etsy shop here.  It is very young still, so obviously I need more listings and a banner which I am working on. Hopefully I can get those up as soon as possible.

Please let me know what you think about the listings etc, do you like the false nails? Do you prefer plain colours, accent nails or all nails with decorations? What sort of designs would you like to see?

Neon Triangles

ahoy hoy

Today I tried a new technique which was to create my own stick on decals.

In brief :-

  1. I painted top coat squares onto a freezer bag
  2. Stamped the triangular design from the Bundle Monster plate BM-403 with Konad black onto the squares
  3. Filled in the triangles with China glaze neon colours Kiwi Cool-ada, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and You Drive Me Coconuts with a nail art brush. Also coloured around the triangles with Barry M Guava (love this shade so much!)
  4. Allow to dry and peel off
  5. Apply to semi dry white polish on the nail, top coat and remove the excess
Voila!

This is the tutorial that inspired my basic design...

She uses the AMAZING MoYou London stamping plates, I have one that I am sure I will show off. She creates a beautiful angel design. Love it.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and I hope you can try giving this a go! I really like this method as I allows to to try a million designs at once and if I mess up, oh well peel it away from the plastic and start again.

Thanks! baaaaai

Hello?!

Hi!
I'm Scar, and welcome to my blog.
This is my first blog, please go easy on me ;) oh gosh, I know you don't bite. Chill.
Here I hope to share with you the aimless natterings of a vet student in London, along with many a post about nail art, varnish, and anything to do with nails haha.
Since I moved to London last September I have started a new obsession in nail polish and art, it allows me to express myself and be creative at the same time, allowing me to relax and relieve my creative brain gunk.
So hopefully I can entertain a few people, and we'll see how it goes :)
Please comment and let me know what you think!

Let the fun begin
